Gino Emnes was born in The Hague, The Netherlands where he also completed his studies as a musical performer at the conservatory and later at Lucia Martha’s Institute for the Performing Arts in Amsterdam.
He has performed in countless successful productions, such as the role of Tyron Jackson in FAME, the role of Benny in the Dutch Production of RENT and in SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER in Utrecht.
Gino was the original Simba in the German production of Disney’s THE LION KING (Hamburg) in 2001. In Austria and Switzerland he performed various roles such as Black in THE WILD PARTY, Joe in the world premiere of CARMEM CUBANA and Milton in the Wiener Kammeroper’s production of AVENUE X. In Zurich he performed the role of Runny in HAIR.
CATS brought Gino back to Holland in the role of Rum Tum Tugger. He then revisited his role as Simba but this time in his mother language for the Dutch version of Disney’s THE LION KING.
In 2007 he went on tour as a soloist for the BEST OF MUSICALS GALA and from there went to the famous Freispiele Tecklenburg Theater to star as Seaweed J. Stubbs in HAIRSPRAY.
He then performed the role of Eddie in the Stuttgarter production of Sisteract before moving back to Hamburg, where he Played Apollo Creed in Rocky the musical. Before moving to Berlin to play Eddie in the new touring company of Sisteract, he played Apollo Creed in the musical Rocky in Stuttgart. Currently Gino is back in Hamburg as First Cast Lola in the musical Kinkyboots.
